Job summary

FoodChainID is seeking an Organic Reviewer to assess and determine compliance of organic certifications remotely. The role involves reviewing applications, product formulations, labels, and compliance documentation and communicating findings to clients via our systems and email.

The ideal candidate has a background in agriculture/science, 1+ year in NOP Organic Certification, and experience with auditing and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, science, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the NOP Organic Certification program (crop, handling, or livestock scopes).
• GFSI certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with Non-GMO Project Verification or other product certification programs preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA, USDA, CFIA and auditing software and corrective action systems.
• Strong MS Office skills: Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Excellent organizational, monitoring, and tracking abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve client applications and documents for USDA Organic.
• Perform technical reviews of products, labels, ingredients, SOPs, and facilities.
• Communicate findings and issues to clients via SupplyTrak or email.
• Maintain records and participate in meetings and trainings.
• Conduct desk audits, supply chain evaluations, traceability audits, and mass-balance audits.
• Identify and report ingredients, processes, and technical issues.
• Support development efforts with program and certification documentation.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned by Technical Operations Director.
