Job summary

SCS Global Services is seeking an Organic Inspector to perform on-site and remote audits under the USDA Organic and related schemes. You will prepare and submit inspection reports, findings summaries, and audit evidence for growers and handlers in the East Coast region or other regions as needed.

This is a contract position with travel across the Continental US required. The role emphasizes adherence to organic standards, strong client communication, and precise documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher in relevant fields as listed.
• 2+ years of experience conducting organic inspections to NOP standards.
• IOIA Basic Crops and/or Basic Handling training.
• Experience with the third-party certification process.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and database systems.
• Willing to travel within the Continental US.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and confirm audit dates with clients.
• Prepare and send client audit plans according to protocols.
• Book travel, hotel, and transportation per policy; submit expenses.
• Conduct audits using applicable checklists, forms and tools.
• Submit complete audit reports within established timelines.
• Maintain up-to-date client records.
