Job Responsibilities

As a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor, your key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and analyzing loan applications and supporting documents for compliance and creditworthiness
• Utilizing your DE and LAPP/SAR certification to endorse FHA and VA loans
• Making approval or denial decisions based on thorough analysis and regulations
• Providing feedback to loan officers and processors
• Collaborating with the processing team to resolve issues
• Staying updated on policy and regulation changes
• Training and guiding junior underwriters
• Participating in team meetings and process improvements
• Supervising a team of underwriters

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor
• DE (Direct Endorsement) and LAPP/SAR certification
• Proficiency in underwriting FHA and VA loans
• Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations and guidelines
• Experience reviewing complex financial documents
• Decision-making skills under pressure
• Excellent communication skills for remote teamwork
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
• Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks
