Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to drive profitable growth by evaluating and underwriting new and renewal accounts. The role collaborates with producers to negotiate pricing and terms while managing capacity and governance compliance.

Remote or hybrid in MN options are available, with market-facing duties including broker meetings in the territory. The candidate should have 3+ years of underwriting experience, a related degree, and a professional qualification

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct underwriting experience in profitable business.
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration preferred.
• CPCU or other professional insurance qualification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets.
• Negotiate price and terms with producers.
• Ensure contract certainty at inception.
• Utilize global pricing tools in decision making.
• Place and bind FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception.
• Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to producers.
• Maintain files for each risk and transaction handled.
• Support policy administration and credit control processes.
• Provide training and coaching to less experienced staff.
