Job summary
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking an Underwriting Database Management Specialist to support the data needs of the Underwriting department. You will extract, import, and link data from various sources, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of underwriting tools, and developing reports to support rating and underwriting decisions.
This position is eligible to work remote, hybrid or onsite in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Actuarial Science, Statistics or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics, database management, or underwriting systems in health insurance.
- Experience with SQL, VBA, Tableau, Power BI or similar reporting tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop reports and dashboards for underwriting data needs using Excel, Access, and visualization tools.
- Maintain underwriting databases with accurate data integration and governance.
- Construct VBA-based applications to automate underwriting workflows.
- Collaborate with IT on system enhancements and underwriting project delivery.
- Audit, clean and validate datasets to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Support governance processes and data standards across teams.
