Job summary

Revecore is seeking an Underpayment Analyst within our Revenue Integrity team. You will verify hospital reimbursements, examine claims, and collaborate with payers to resolve discrepancies while improving reimbursement processes under regulatory guidelines.

The role includes comprehensive training for 90 business days and remote work from eligible US states, supporting cross-functional teams to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Investigative and problem‑solving skills to identify underpayments and discrepancies.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex guidelines affecting claims reimbursement.
• Ability to navigate payer policies including Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial guidelines.
• Detail‑oriented to ensure accuracy in guideline application and audit documentation.
• Effective communication to collaborate with payers, internal teams, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursements using tools and internal workflows.
• Investigate reasons for underpayments (variances, coding or billing issues, payer policy applications).
• Contact insurers to obtain missing information and resolve underpayments.
• Prepare correspondence (letters, emails, faxes) and submit payments or adjustments.
• Document root causes, trends, outcomes, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Participate in team discussions to improve processes and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS rules, and state requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
