Job summary

The ACLU - National Office in New York City seeks an Undergraduate Intern for the Reproductive Freedom Campaigns within the National Political Advocacy Department. This part-time internship is remote and designed for current undergraduates based in the United States.

You will gain experience in federal reproductive freedom advocacy, draft advocacy materials, assist with coalition events, and support logistics for virtual and in-person activities.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of government and policy, racial justice, and systemic equality.
• Organized, willing to learn, proactive; able to balance differing responsibilities and prioritize; able to manage projects and see them through to completion.
• Strong computer skills, particularly web-based research including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Reproductive Freedom Team on execution of campaign strategy and tactics to advance reproductive freedom, and other civil rights and civil liberties issues
• Draft and support the production and distribution of advocacy, policy, and public education materials (e.g., scripts, slide decks, toolkits, one-pagers)
• Coordinate operational and recruitment tasks, including engagement with supporters, volunteers, and affiliate staff for coalition events.
• Provide logistical and operational support for our in-person events
