A premier structural building component manufacturer is seeking an experienced Truss Designer to work remotely on Florida residential construction projects. This role requires expertise in designing single-family roof and floor truss systems while ensuring compliance with Florida building codes. The candidate should have over 8 years of design experience, proficiency with MiTek software, and a strong understanding of wind loads and local requirements. Qualifications

• 8+ years of wood truss design experience.
• Extensive experience designing single-family residential projects.
• Demonstrated experience working on Florida-based projects.
• Demonstrated experience working on Florida-based projects
• Strong understanding of Florida Building Code, wind zones, and hurricane load requirements
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote design environment

Responsibilities

• Design roof and floor truss systems for Florida single-family residential construction.
• Interpret architectural plans and structural requirements to produce accurate truss layouts.
• Ensure all designs comply with Florida Building Code and local jurisdiction requirements.
• Utilize MiTek truss design software to produce truss layouts and engineering documentation
• Work closely with sales teams, builders, and production staff to ensure projects move efficiently from design to manufacturing
• Review designs for wind loads, uplift requirements, and structural integrity specific to Florida markets
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers when needed

A premier growing structural building component manufacturer is seeking an experienced Truss Designer to support a high-volume pipeline of Florida residential construction projects. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere while collaborating with a highly experienced design and production team.

This role is ideal for a designer who has strong experience designing single-family residential roof and floor truss systems in Florida, understands the complexities of wind loads, hurricane zones, and Florida building requirements, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
