Job summary

SMA America, the U.S. subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG, is seeking a Transportation Analyst to support the Manager of Transportation and the Manager of Planning, Purchasing and Logistics in shipment tracking, in-transit reporting, and customs compliance.

The role emphasizes data maintenance, KPI tracking, and collaboration with carriers and internal teams, with remote work within the United States and core Pacific hours. The position offers strong benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience on either the carrier or shipper side.
• Knowledge of all carrier modes: air, parcel, ocean, FTL, LTL, and flatbed.
• Proven carrier management experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a customer-service focus.

Responsibilities

• Supports import and export documentation in line with customs regulations, laws and procedures.
• Ensures products comply with CBP regulations using HTS codes and maintains codes in SAP.
• Requests and compiles import documentation and serves as liaison with government agencies.
• Validates carrier invoices for payment approval and resolves disputes.
• Manages large scale project shipments from import through delivery to site.
• Enters shipments into the Transportation Management System and maintains records.
