Job summary

SMA America, the U.S. subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG, is seeking a Temporary Transportation Analyst for a roughly three-month assignment.

The role focuses on freight analysis, carrier performance reporting, and shipment data accuracy to move inverters and components across the United States efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in supply chain or related field and at least two years in transportation analysis, with strong Excel, SAP, and TMS skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years in transportation/logistics analysis
• Experience with freight invoice auditing, carrier rates, LTL/FTL
• Excel pivot tables/lookups; Word/Outlook
• Experience with SAP or ERP and a TMS
• Attention to detail; meet month-end deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication with internal teams and carriers
• Availability for core business hours Pacific time

Responsibilities

• Analyze freight costs, carrier rates, and shipment data to identify savings/trends.
• Audit and reconcile carrier invoices against quotes, contracts, and shipment records.
• Maintain shipment and freight data in SAP and the TMS.
• Prepare weekly/month-end freight spend and performance reports.
• Support Transportation Coordinators with rate quotes and carrier selection.
• Track open shipments and escalate delays or exceptions.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, and carriers to resolve issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
