Job summary

Maxonic Inc. is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer II Threat Intelligence Lead for a remote role. You will lead threat intelligence collection, proactive hunting, and analyst mentorship across a complex security environment.

You will develop automated workflows, build detection rules with Python/SQL, and translate findings into actionable guidance for leadership. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in threat intel/CTI
• Proven CTI leadership or mentoring experience
• Strong expertise with TIPs, SIEM, and EDR tooling
• Experience collecting/analyzing OSINT, internal feeds, and commercial threat feeds
• Hands-on with automated workflows and playbooks for detection/response
• Knowledge of attack methodologies, APTs, malware, ransomware
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and IoCs
• Ability to synthesize data into actionable intel for technical/non-technical stakeholders
• Strong reporting and briefing skills for leadership
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis/automation

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of threat intelligence analysts.
• Provide strategic direction for the threat intelligence function.
• Collect, analyze, and disseminate cyber threat intel from OSINT, TIPs, SIEM, and EDR.
• Proactively hunt for APTs, malware, and other threats across networks and apps.
• Develop automated workflows and playbooks to streamline detection and response.
• Synthesize large datasets to produce clear, actionable intelligence for technical and leadership audiences.
• Map adversary behaviors using MITRE ATT&CK to predict threats.
