Job description

If you are a Psypact and/or NC-licensed Psychologist, who is excellent at the craft and wishes to open a side practice with a high degree of autonomy without the stress of administrative overhead, this posting is for you.

We are a group of autonomous, polished, doctoral-level therapists who provide high-level trauma-related therapy primarily in virtual space. We call our own schedules and can opt in or out of prospective clients, supporting each other clinically when needed. There is no formality of staffings or quotas; this position is for the clinician who wishes to do the clinical hour and drop the mic. We have 24-hour telephone care, virtual scheduling, office support staff, and dedicated cybersecurity, tech, and admin support. We are also at the forefront of using AI in our administrative and public-facing practices. Our tech stack is fully supported for all clinicians; you don’t have to be a tech-savvy person to thrive here.

We are seeking a clinician interested in PT to FT work to serve North Carolina and/or national clients.

Applicant Requirements:

• PT or FT availability (no quotas)
• PhD or PsyD
• Psypact and/or NC-licensed (Psypact strongly preferred; we can support your application)
• 2+ years of clinical experience
• Space for a polished home office (open to clinician-branding feedback; stipend available for setup if needed)
• Ability to work with trauma
• Availability for Insurance and/or EAP credentialing (included in onboarding)
• Personality and therapeutic perspective that extend beyond ESTs; we value individuality

Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders
• Providing therapy to individuals and couples
• Helping clients manage stress
• Formulating approaches to difficult issues and problems
• Teaching an understanding of human behavior to others

About the Practice

Grotto is a niche trauma-care practice specializing in complex or advanced therapy needs. We serve elite clientele, including corporate clients and public figures, and support healthcare professionals and former military personnel. Our practice was designed to address common clinician pitfalls such as quotas, loyalty without pay, work-life balance issues, micromanagement, and limited time for theoretical development. The group is clinician-led, fostering a supportive, autonomous, yet connected environment. We seek someone with a niche in trauma work; couples/family therapy experience is a plus.
