Job summary

ValorMynd, a Valor Healthcare company, partners with Longwood University to expand confidential mental health support for student-athletes through virtual visits.

We seek independently licensed clinicians (LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMFT or equivalent) to provide short-term, solution-focused therapy, with CBT and DBT as appropriate, including intake, risk screening, and care coordination. All notes are documented within 24 hours, following HIPAA/FERPA rules, remotely and within Virginia licensure.

Qualifications

• Master's level clinician with a current Virginia license.
• At least two years of individual therapy experience.
• Experience with CBT and DBT.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and care coordination skills.
• Ability to assess presenting concerns and refer when higher care is needed.
• Experience with telehealth/virtual therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential, individual behavioral health counseling via secure virtual video or phone.
• Deliver brief, goal-focused therapy for student-athletes.
• Conduct intake, screenings, risk assessments, and set treatment goals.
• Use CBT and DBT when appropriate.
• Monitor progress and maintain timely documentation.
• Coordinate referrals to campus or community resources as needed.
• Discharge planning and transition support.
