Job summary

Jobs on a Ship seeks an Automation Technician for remote cruise-ship work. You will operate an automated stage rigging system in the main theatre (up to 32 axes) for various shows, and you will also handle cleaning and maintenance of drops.

The role includes assisting the Floor Technician with scenery and props upkeep and requires strict adherence to all shipboard safety and dress code policies. Candidates should have an associate degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or at least one year

Qualifications

• Theatre background and familiarity with industry terms, rules and practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask during live shows.
• Basic PC hardware and software maintenance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated stage rigging system (up to 32 axes) for all shows.
• Clean and maintain drops; assist Floor Technician with scenery upkeep.
• Comply with shipboard safety trainings, rules, and dress code.
• Work up to 10 hours per 24 hour period, 7 days a week.
