Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking Texas Certified Teachers to join our Live Learning Platform as remote tutors. You’ll work with K-12 students online, set your own hours, and earn competitive pay up to $40 per hour.

You must hold an active Texas Teaching Certificate (TEA), bring deep subject matter knowledge and classroom experience, and be able to connect TEKS concepts to individual student needs with adaptive instruction.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (TEA) required.
• Deep knowledge in certified subject area(s) with ability to connect K-12 concepts to student needs across grade levels and learning goals.
• Experience teaching in a Texas classroom setting with understanding of TEKS standards.
• Skilled at diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods.
• Ability to identify concepts students struggle with and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Strong communication and a friendly, engaging teaching style.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests as available.
• Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
