Overview

Temporary Controller (Remote), Must live in Georgia. A growing small business is seeking a Temporary Controller to work remotely and help bring our financial records up to date. This is a hands-on role focused on organizing, reconciling, and improving our accounting systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This position is scheduled for a few months and it could go to a temp to hire position.

What You’ll Do

• Review and clean up current financial records
• Reconcile accounts and prepare accurate financial reports
• Organize chart of accounts and streamline bookkeeping processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and accounting standards
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and internal controls
• Provide management with financial insights for decision-making

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus)
• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, including Controller or Senior Accountant roles
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with small business accounting (QuickBooks or similar software)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Temporary contract role
• 100% remote (occasional on-site meetings if needed)
• Focused project: get books in order and establish better processes
• Pay rate $50.00 hr to $60.00 DOE
