Job summary

WeCare Medical Specialty Group is seeking an experienced Order Verification Specialist – Telepharmacy to review and verify medication orders remotely, ensuring accuracy, patient safety and regulatory compliance. You will assess dosing, interactions, contraindications, and allergies before authorizing orders in alignment with procedures.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent recognized by licensing authority.
• Active pharmacist license in intended practice jurisdiction (remote verification if required).
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, medication safety, and prescription processing.
• Understanding of dosage calculations, interactions, contraindications, and clinical screening procedures.
• Experience with pharmacy management systems, e-prescriptions, or telepharmacy platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify prescription orders for accuracy, dosage, and clinical suitability.
• Assess orders for potential drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and safety concerns.
• Confirm medication names, strengths, forms, instructions, and quantities against requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, resolve routine issues, and escalate clinical concerns to the pharmacist or prescriber.
• Use secure telepharmacy platforms and pharmacy management systems to document verification decisions.
• Follow state and federal pharmacy laws, standards, controlled-substance requirements, and policies.
• Maintain accurate electronic records of order reviews, interventions, and verification outcomes.
• Communicate with dispensing pharmacists, prescribers, technicians, and healthcare personnel to resolve issues.
• Follow verification protocols and participate in quality reviews to reduce medication errors.
• Protect patient health information and comply with privacy and security requirements.
• Prioritize orders, manage verification queues, and meet service-level targets.
• Contribute to improvements in verification procedures, workflows, and medication safety.
