Job summary

Handshake AI is seeking experienced Technical Writers and documentation professionals to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work.

You will apply real-world experience creating, editing, and refining technical documentation to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI produce clearer, more accurate, and user-friendly writing. This remote role offers an asynchronous schedule with roughly 5–20 hours weekly on active projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a technical writer, product marketer, or in a related writing or editorial role
• Proven experience creating original technical content, editing drafts, and refining voice and tone for diverse audiences
• Exceptional written communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while following detailed written guidelines
• Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to handling sensitive or proprietary information with discretion
• No prior AI or technical background required

Responsibilities

• Create expert-level training data and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance
• Provide feedback that helps AI produce clearer, more accurate, and user-friendly technical writing
• Apply hands-on knowledge of daily work tools to evaluate and improve AI-assisted documentation
• Ensure clarity, consistency, voice, and tone in technical content
