Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Technical Business/Data Analyst to support data feeds, requirements, and SQL-driven development. The role focuses on Guidewire BillingCenter data integrations and policy/billing data workflows, with 100% remote flexibility.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in BA/Data Analyst roles, strong SQL skills, and experience translating business needs into technical specs, plus familiarity with insurance data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or hybrid role.
• Highly proficient in SQL with the ability to independently develop, troubleshoot, and validate complex SQL queries and data transformations.
• Strong experience translating business needs into technical requirements.
• Demonstrated success working directly with customers and managing differing stakeholder personalities.
• Experience with data feed design, testing, validation, and documentation.
• Experience working with enterprise data integration and reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand problems, gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design data feeds and produce clear, actionable data requirements and documentation.
• Develop SQL queries, logic, and transformations to support data pipelines, reporting, and downstream system integrations.
• Analyze and support data integrations involving Guidewire BillingCenter, customer billing data, policy information, and related insurance business processes.
• Partner with business and technical teams to define and validate data requirements for Guidewire-related enhancements, reporting, and data migration initiatives.
• Test and validate data feeds prior to engineering deployment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with technical teams, engineering, and deployment teams to ensure smooth handoff and execution.
• Build strong, productive relationships with a diverse set of internal customers; adapt communication style based on audience.
• Act as a problem-solver and innovator, proactively identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
• Participate in PI Planning and other Agile/ iterative planning sessions.
