Passageway Financial is seeking a Tax Manager to lead our tax preparation and quarterly planning services for owner-operated small businesses. You’ll review returns, mentor staff, and guide small business owners with proactive tax decisions using QuickBooks Online and Gusto.

You will lead client conversations, translate complex tax rules into plain language, and identify opportunities to save taxes while staying compliant with evolving laws. This role allows remote work with national scope.

Qualifications

EA, CPA, or equivalent credential active and in good standing.
5+ years of business and individual tax experience.
Strong reviewer’s eye; spot issues without slowing the team.
Comfortable leading client conversations and explaining strategy clearly.
US-based, authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review business and individual tax returns.
Conduct quarterly tax planning meetings with clients.
Research tax issues and ensure compliance with current tax laws.
Review work prepared by staff and provide thoughtful feedback.
Mentor junior team members and help them grow technically.
Communicate tax strategies clearly— translate complex rules into plain language.
Identify tax-saving opportunities clients wouldn’t find on their own.
Maintain technical expertise as laws and regulations evolve.
Improve our tax workflows and processes so the whole team works smarter.
