Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in an industry setting.
• Strong background in corporate and partnership tax with multi-state exposure.
• Experience with fixed assets and depreciation; familiarity with REIT regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare REIT compliance documentation and quarterly testing.
• Coordinate with external preparers on federal, state, and international tax returns.
• Conduct and document complex tax research.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Prepare REIT compliance documentation and quarterly testing

Coordinate with external preparers on federal, state, and international tax returns

Prepare and manage tax estimates, extensions, and return payments

Complete interim and annual ASC 740 tax provisions for financial reporting

Maintain accurate fixed asset tax records and oversee 1031 exchange processes

Prepare information returns, state/local, and personal property tax filings

Manage tax notices and correspondence

Conduct and document complex tax research

Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls

Qualifications Needed

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required

CPA license preferred or progress toward CPA

Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in an industry setting

Strong background in corporate and partnership tax with multi-state exposure

Working knowledge of GAAP tax provision (ASC 740)

Experience with fixed assets and depreciation; 1031 exchanges

Familiarity with real estate tax compliance and REIT regulations preferred

Public Company Experience Strongly Preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, tax research tools, and project management
