Job summary

Liberty Tax Service is seeking a Tax Compliance Auditor to work with the Director of Compliance and Compliance Process Manager to review individual tax returns, schedules, and credits. You will help identify unusual tax practices, test compliance with Liberty Tax policies, and interact with franchisees and staff to communicate findings and improvements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IRS regulations pertaining to the Earned Income Tax Credit and preparer Due Diligence
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, research and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations and software
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Three or more years of individual income tax preparation experience

Responsibilities

• Assist in the process to monitor franchise and managed operation stores tax compliance with the IRS, Liberty Tax policies and procedures and federal and state tax statutes.
• Perform review of individual tax returns to monitor compliance with IRS regulations pertaining to filing of personal income tax returns.
• Communicate findings to franchisees and stores personnel and report results to appropriate departments and upper management.
• Cultivate and maintain a positive, productive, and professional relationship with staff, colleagues, and franchisees.
