Job summary

Technotopia Solutions LLC is seeking a Tableau Engineer for a remote, long-term contract engagement. You will design and optimize enterprise dashboards, develop complex SQL, and ensure data accuracy across multi-source datasets.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of professional experience with Tableau and SQL.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; analytical or technical discipline preferred.
• Expert-level experience with Tableau Desktop / Tableau Creator.
• Expert-level SQL development and performance optimization.
• Experience building enterprise-level Tableau reports and dashboards.
• Strong data modeling understanding and multi-source data handling.
• Experience with AWS-based data services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data-driven Tableau reports and dashboards from concept through deployment.
• Develop optimized Custom SQL queries to structure and prepare complex datasets.
• Optimize Tableau workbooks by leveraging order of operations, extracts, and filters.
• Troubleshoot slow dashboards and improve performance.
• Shift complex filtering logic to optimized SQL when appropriate.
• Write and maintain SQL across data sources (data lakes, Redshift, SQL Server, AWS Athena).
• Perform cross-database joins, data blending, and transformations for enterprise reporting.
• Create user-friendly dashboards and reporting interfaces.
• Document report logic, data sources, calculations, and SQL transformations.
• Develop Python scripts for reporting automation and exports.
• Integrate Tableau with APIs and tools like Python or R.
• Collaborate with AWS data teams to source and prepare data using S3, Glue, Lambda.
• Support migration to Tableau Online from on-prem reports.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate SQL development and testing.
