Carter Machinery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer I to inspect generator packages, analyze nonconformances, and drive supplier corrective actions. The role requires a engineering degree, QA experience, and the ability to travel up to 50% across North America.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams, use MS Office for documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement while supporting audits and first article inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is a plus.
• General knowledge of mechanical and electrical product designs and concepts.
• Data analysis experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Valid driver's license and driving record.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% to North America sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect generator packages with team assistance and documentation resources.
• Evaluate nonconformance data in quality management system.
• Initiate supplier corrective action requests for severe and recurring nonconformances.
• Validate supplier corrective actions.
• Support first article inspections as a secondary auditor.
• Support supplier qualification audits through documentation collection and capturing Gemba observations.
• Pursue continuing education in new solutions, technologies, and skills.
• Coordinate with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals.
