Job summary

The Standard offers a Summer Legal Internship Program that is paid and fully remote for Summer 2027. This opportunity is designed to develop and enhance legal skills in-house, with supervision from department attorneys across four attorney teams.

You will gain practical experience, meet internal partners, and contribute to a broad range of practice areas. Open to first or second year law students who are authorized to work in the United States, with 40 hours per week for 8–10 weeks.

Qualifications

• First or second year law student during the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Proficient in legal research using LexisNexis and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Researching relevant laws and regulations.
• Reviewing and summarizing laws, regulations, case law, etc.
• Observing client meetings, negotiations, and/or mediations.
• Drafting legal memoranda.
• Attending department-wide and team meetings.
• Reviewing contracts.
• Advising on privacy issues.
• Addressing in-house employment matters.
