Job summary

RealREPP, a national recruiting firm, partners with a construction/engineering firm to hire an experienced Structural Steel VDC Manager for a fully remote role in the U.S. The position oversees a large VDC steel team across major industrial projects and drives profitability while collaborating with multiple teams.

The role requires expertise in Revit, Navisworks, Advance Steel, Tekla/SDS2, and a solid understanding of AISC/AWS standards, with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience leading a team of 50+ employees.
• Experience managing in-office and remote teams.
• Experience with 50,000 tons +.
• Experience on major industrial projects (hyperscale data centers, mission-critical, advanced tech, etc.).
• Knowledge of steel detailing approval processes.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, and installation practices.
• Proficiency with Advance Steel, Tekla or SDS2.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam & BIM360.
• Strong knowledge of AISC codes & AWS.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee VDC structural steel team.
• Lead development of team and use performance metrics.
• Utilize Revit, Navisworks & Advance Steel.
• Provide individual performance reviews & skills assessments.
• Attend project kickoff meetings and clarify scope.
• Provide quality control.
• Oversee profitability and document internal work orders.
• Collaborate with other teams to generate accurate quotations.
