Job summary

Interwest Consulting Group seeks a Structural Plans Examiner to review plans for CA compliance. You will provide written and oral feedback, support inspectors, and communicate with building divisions and clients.

Requirements include a PE in Structural or Civil, 3–5 years of experience, and a CA residence. Valid driver’s license is required. Base hourly compensation is competitive with the market.

Qualifications

• PE in structural or civil engineering required.
• CASp certification preferred.
• ICC Residential Plan Review Certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience in structural design and plan review.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and specifications for compliance with city, state, and federal laws.
• Provide timely oral and written communication detailing design deficiencies.
• Review building permits with regards to Building Divisions regulations.
• Assist inspectors with difficult or unusual code issues and comments.
• Cultivate positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
