Job summary
Alpaca is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to advance Corporate Actions and Security Master systems. You will work on entitlements, settlements, and reconciliations across a global brokerage platform, building auditable, scalable services in Go with cloud-native tooling.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and timely propagation of changes across systems and customer-facing APIs.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on Corporate Actions, Security Master, or securities-processing experience.
- Strong understanding of terms, record dates, entitlements, elections, fractions, and reconciliation.
Responsibilities
- Design and build distributed systems for Corporate Actions and Security Master across US and international markets.
- Ingest, normalize, and cross-verify security and event data from vendors and custodians.
- Implement entitlements processing using validated records, elections, and currency rules.
- Develop auditable workflows for validation, approvals, processing, corrections, exceptions, and reconciliation.
- Ensure changes propagate across books, positions, ledger, trading, tax, and customer systems.
- Collaborate with Operations, Product, and other engineering teams and write production code.
