Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Staff Pathologist to support the Cancer Diagnostics division in a digital hybrid model. The Phoenix CLIA laboratory performs advanced molecular testing and provides comprehensive genomic insights to guide therapy decisions.

The role involves interpreting diagnostic results, validating assays, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across Medical Affairs and Laboratory Operations. On-site duties occur one week per month in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• MD required with board certification in anatomical and clinical pathology.
• Fellowship in surgical pathology and/or cytology preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years clinical practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic pathology interpretation of laboratory data and tissue specimens per standards.
• Interpret and sign out solid tumor molecular diagnostic cases.
• Interpret and sign out IHC biomarkers (PD-L1, HER2).
• Perform H&E assessment of tumor cellularity.
• Contribute to assay validation and quality improvement.
• Support cross-functional teams (Medical Affairs, Lab Operations, etc.).
• Navigate CLIA and CAP requirements in daily practice.
