Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a senior-level attorney to join a collaborative legal team handling California insurance defense matters from inception through resolution in a fully remote role.

This position features no billable hour requirements, a manageable caseload, and flexible, independent work structure while benefiting from a supportive team of experienced Workers’ Compensation practitioners.

Qualifications

JD required with a strong background in insurance defense.
Solid knowledge of California state laws, local court policies and procedures.
Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
Experience supervising junior attorneys and developing teams.
Experience with Team Connect legal software and dictation.

Responsibilities

Independently represent insureds before the assigned Court, presenting witnesses and evidence.
Analyze complex legal and factual issues and conduct research to develop defense strategies.
Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs aligned with case strategy.
Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, depositions and appeals as assigned.
Provide clear, timely communication to clients and claims professionals.
Collaborate with leadership on special projects impacting the practice.
