Job summary

Openly is seeking a Staff Analyst to join the Finance & Strategy team. This role serves as a critical link between high‑level strategic vision and tactical operational delivery, reporting to the Senior Director of Operations Analytics and Reporting.

The ideal candidate will own analytical frameworks for our top business drivers, leveraging deep insurance analytics expertise to shape data strategy and deliver cross‑functional reporting.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in personal lines insurance analytics (Homeowners and Auto highly preferred).
• Expert-level SQL and experience / interest in building predictive models and leveraging AI
• Advanced LookerStudio expertise, building executive reporting suites that roll up data into strategy dashboards.
• Deep mastery of insurance operational functions and the ability to act as a connective tissue for leadership across the value chain.
• Autonomy to manage vague projects and create structure with minimal direction.
• Degree in a quantitative field; CPCU or progress toward actuarial exams is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate leadership objectives into structured analytics projects with defined milestones.
• Design and standardize reporting methodologies across the team with unified logic for key metrics.
• Lead complex business cases for new initiatives, combining ROI with data impact analysis.
• Serve as the analytical consultant to department heads, prioritizing initiatives based on data-driven potential.
• Translate data into executive-ready narratives to drive growth and profitability.
