The Sr. National Title Examination Specialist will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of national title searches, title clearance, and underwriting to help produce clear property titles and enable the efficient transfer of real estate and the issuance of title insurances for purchase, refinance, and equity transactions. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The target pay range for this position is $25.00 to $35.00.

What You’ll Do
  1. Perform examination of title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and to establish chain of title.
  2. Review title search reports and their documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
  3. Verify that the information in the title search and accompanying documentation is accurate and complete.
  4. Resolve any issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation.
  5. Abstract and analyze deeds, deeds of trust/mortgages, easements, judgments, tax assessments, mineral reservations, and other applicable instruments.
  6. Verify ownership and encumbrances of real property.
  7. Review reporting to determine turn time compliance.
  8. Act as an escalation point for junior examiners in assisting with questions and compliance.
  9. Provide and promote process change ideas to increase efficiencies in the exam process.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Three (3) to four (4) years of experience in the title services industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-state title insurance guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of real estate title concepts.
  • Strong working knowledge of legal documents and their impact on title to real property.
  • Knowledge of title insurance commitment and policy formats and all procedures required to prepare them, including abstracting, title examinations, survey analysis, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculations requiring detail, concentration, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work accurately, detail-oriented, and highly productive.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to compose professional letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports, and to communicate technical information orally.
  • Effective oral communication skills for exchanging ideas clearly and accurately.
