Responsible for providing quality loan processing, reviewing files for adherence to underwriting standards, and ensuring completeness of submissions. Obtains necessary information (e.g., loan applications, credit documents, appraisals) to process and complete mortgage loan files. Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, as well as all applicable US state and federal laws and regulations. The target pay range for this position is $58,000 to $70,000.
What you’ll do:
- Review loan submissions, monitor incoming documents, and verify data collected by brokers.
- Gather necessary information to process and complete mortgage loan files.
- Input loan information into the company’s Loan Origination System (LOS).
- Maintain open files, order appraisals, send verifications, and acquire documentation related to borrowers and properties.
- Ensure work quality and compliance with company policies, procedures, and investor guidelines.
- Process loans to meet company and investor guidelines.
- Communicate with external parties (Escrow Officer, Title Officer, Realtor, Appraisal Management Company) to resolve issues.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Sales, Underwriting, Disclosures, Docs/Funding) to resolve issues.
- Inform borrowers and brokers about discrepancies and loan status.
- Review credit information to assess acceptability for loan programs.
- Verify credit reports and flood certificates as needed.
- Submit files for underwriting approval.
- Obtain stipulations to clear prior to documentation and funding.
- Meet deadlines for disclosures, approval letters, and notices.
- Process 4506T, lock confirmations, and Change of Circumstance requests.
- Monitor pipeline to ensure timely funding.
- Assist with post-closing activities for secondary market purchases.
What you'll need:
- Maintain confidentiality of borrower information per company policy.
- Thorough knowledge of mortgage processing and underwriting guidelines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle detailed tasks and prioritize effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years of loan processing experience.
- Experience with Encompass/Empower preferred.
- Experience with DU, LP, or other AUS preferred.
