Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Database Administrator to oversee SQL Server databases supporting the UPDB and UHAIV initiatives. You will ensure reliability across development, test, and production environments while enabling data versioning, metadata management, automation, and CI/CD integration.

Remote work option with occasional on-site meetings in Salt Lake City; 12-month contract with possible extension up to 2 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise production environments.
• Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high availability solutions.
• Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Experience developing administrative scripts using PowerShell.
• Experience supporting database deployments and change management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience implementing database CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting healthcare or research data environments.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, or similar source control platforms.
• Experience with metadata management and data governance initiatives.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, NIST, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, secure, and optimize the performance of SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, ETL Engineers, and Security teams to ensure reliable data delivery.
• Support modernization efforts related to data versioning, metadata management, automation, and CI/CD implementation.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards and security requirements.
