Job summary

Muon Space seeks a talented Spacecraft ADCS/GNC engineer to join our team. The role involves designing and implementing guidance, navigation, and control architectures in embedded C++, collaborating across disciplines to deliver robust spacecraft designs.

This position can be performed remotely from an approved location, with a salary range of $166,000–$219,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits. You will perform analyses, simulations, and on-orbit support in a fast-paced space company.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent and 2-3+ years in GNC, or substantial hands-on GNC experience.
• Strong software skills in C++ and experience in embedded environments.
• Solid knowledge of control and optimization theory and numerical methods (Python/Julia/MATLAB).
• Experience designing, analyzing, and implementing ADCS/GNC subsystems for spacecraft.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement guidance, navigation & control architectures and algorithms in an embedded C++ environment.
• Define requirements for ADCS algorithms, hardware, and related systems for current missions and future roadmaps.
• Perform analysis and simulation of mission-specific GNC performance.
• Collaborate on ground-processing algorithms for sensor calibration and offline geolocation processing.
• Support anomaly resolution of on-orbit systems and on-call duties.
• Support software- and hardware-in-the-loop test planning, execution, and validation.
