Job summary

OpenTrain AI seeks an experienced mechanical CAD specialist to create parametric 3D models and refine designs. You will transform briefs into robust CAD assemblies, document changes, and verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.

This is remote project-based work with flexible hours. Candidates should have 4+ years with SolidWorks/FreeCAD/Fusion 360/Inventor, strong GD&T knowledge, and a disciplined attention to guidelines.

Qualifications

• Four+ years using SolidWorks, FreeCAD, Fusion 360 or Autodesk Inventor or an equivalent parametric CAD tool.
• Strong GD&T experience (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent) and manufacturability judgment.
• Excellent written and oral English; careful adherence to detailed guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Turn written briefs into fully parametric 3D CAD models with robust feature trees and constraints.
• Edit existing models to meet technical requirements and document changes clearly.
• Check models for dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and manufacturability.
• Review designs for injection molding and sheet metal production.
