Job summary

Purdue Global is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member in Sociology for remote teaching. This term-by-term, non-tenured appointment involves delivering high-quality instruction to adult learners in online programs and may include governance and curriculum work.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Sociology, has 1–3 years of related experience, and is comfortable teaching asynchronously or synchronously in a remote setting. Compensation is course-based.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sociology required.
• 1–3 years’ related experience; online/higher education teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10-week units).
• Provide student-centered learning environment enabling student success.
• Maintain virtual office hours per week for each class.
• Respond promptly to student emails and communications.
• Lead discussions and engage students in coursework.
• Coordinate with Academic Advisors on student concerns and accommodations.
• Submit accurate grades and progress reports on time.
• Deliver mid-term and final grades per academic calendar.
• Enforce student conduct policies as outlined in the catalog.
• Attend meetings as requested.
• Stay current with trends and technology relevant to the program.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
