Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize Snowflake-based data warehouses supporting analytics and BI initiatives.

You will partner with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to build scalable data solutions, implement performance tuning, and ensure data quality and governance across Snowflake environments. Remote contracting role with 6+ month duration and competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Data Engineer/ warehousing role.
• Snowflake Certification required.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake development.
• Experience creating/managing Snowflake objects (databases, schemas, tables, views).
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Data modeling methodologies (dimensional modeling, star schemas).
• Proven Snowflake performance tuning and large-scale data environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, and other objects.
• Create and optimize data models to support analytics, reporting, and BI.
• Develop and maintain fact and dimension tables using dimensional modeling.
• Write and optimize Snowflake SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
• Implement performance tuning, including clustering keys and warehouse sizing.
• Monitor Snowflake performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain materialized views, streams, and tasks.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to design scalable data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and governance across Snowflake environments.
• Support ongoing enhancements to the enterprise data warehouse and analytics ecosystem.
