Beacon Hill Technologies seeks an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize Snowflake databases and data models for analytics and BI. This is a remote six+ month contract with a rate of $80–$100 per hour.

The role requires 5+ years in data engineering or Snowflake development, Snowflake certification, and strong SQL and dimensional modeling skills to ensure data quality, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineer/Data Warehouse Engineer or Snowflake Developer experience.
• Snowflake Certification is required.
• Hands-on Snowflake development experience.
• Experience creating and managing Snowflake objects.
• Advanced SQL and query optimization skills.
• Data modeling with dimensional modeling, star schemas.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, views, and other objects.
• Create and optimize data models to support analytics and BI.
• Develop and maintain fact and dimension tables with dimensional modeling.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot Snowflake SQL queries and data transformations.
• Implement performance tuning: query optimization, clustering keys, warehouse sizing.
• Monitor Snowflake performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Build materialized views, streams, tasks, and Snowflake-native features.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders on scalable solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and governance across environments.
• Support enhancements to the data warehouse and analytics ecosystem.
