Job summary

Communities Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a Business Management Consultant to provide direct, one-on-one management and business skills consulting to startups and existing small businesses across our seven-state service area, with emphasis near the Jackson, MS region.

The role involves developing content for trainings, facilitating webinars and workshops, and building partnerships to support economic development in central Mississippi and beyond.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business, management, finance, administration, or related field with 1+ year in related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance, administration, or related field with 5+ years in related experience.
• Excellent facilitation, writing, communication, computer, and analysis skills.
• Ability to develop workshops related to small business management consulting.
• Ability to build new and existing partnerships in target communities.
• Ability to work one-on-one with entrepreneurs to build their business skills and management capacity.
• Ability to work independently with accountability for results.
• Must maintain valid driver’s license, transportation, and auto insurance.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial and operational assessments for small business clients and recommend strategies.
• Develop scopes of services, financial projections, and actionable plans while delivering consulting and financial literacy education.
• Analyze financial data, including ratio analysis, to support decision-making.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, business owners, and partners to promote resources and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate client documentation, reporting, timekeeping, and cross-team collaboration.
