Job Description:

Role: Systems Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Location: REMOTE

Type: Contract

Apex Systems, a global leader in IT Services, is looking for an SRE for a large Healthcare client. This is a fully remote opportunity working ET hours. Experience with GMP and GCP data in the Life Science industry is preferred. Details below:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent
• 3-5 years relevant experience (internships count)
• Effective communication and stakeholder influence skills
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, project management, and software development approaches
• Experience testing and process improvement mapping
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product teams to promote reliability engineering throughout the software lifecycle
• Define and track service level objectives (SLOs)
• Develop software to enhance system performance, scalability, and stability
• Participate in operational support and post-mortem analyses
• Improve automation, security, and system observability methods
• Work with security and privacy teams to ensure system integrity
• Assess and mitigate risks related to third-party dependencies

Required Skillset:

• Strong problem-solving and adaptability
• Experience with reliability monitoring tools (e.g., observability, CI/CD)
• RESTful services, code migration (Bitbucket), ServiceBus, Big Data, testing tools
• Proficiency in .NET, large databases (RDS, Oracle, SQL)
• Knowledge of agile practices and tools (Jira)
• Effective communication for technical/non-technical audiences
• Experience in regulated environments with high-risk applications
