Job summary

micro1 is a remote data lab that designs and evaluates production sets for film, TV, theatre, events and photography. The role focuses on set and production design review, ensuring designs fit story, space and camera needs.

You’ll assess briefs, budgets and scripts, explain design decisions in writing, and collaborate with other departments to ensure production integrity. Prior experience in production design is required.

Qualifications

• Professional work designing, building or decorating sets for film, TV, theatre, events, commercials or photography.
• Experience with real productions: scripts or briefs, budgets, builds, shoot or install days and working with other departments.
• Clear written English and ability to explain design decisions in writing.

Responsibilities

• Review set designs and briefs, judge fit with story, space and camera, and explain decisions in writing.
• Look at set designs, room setups or production concepts and judge which is stronger for a given script, brief or budget.
• Write short explanations for each decision so reviewers can follow the reasoning.
