Honeywell Building Automation in Independence, OH is seeking a Remote Services Commercial Engineer to join the Global Remote Buildings Operation Team. You will provide 24/7 engineering response, remote fixes, escalations, and interface with customers to resolve issues under SLA.

The role includes travel less than monthly, hybrid work with 3 days in the Cleveland area, and 90-day training in Cleveland. You report to the Senior Field Service Manager.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in Maintenance, Repair, Installation & Operation of BEMS.
  • 2+ years working with Building Energy Management Systems.
  • 2+ years direct customer interaction (in person or via phone).
  • Desirable exposure to service revenue opportunities (T&M, SPOT, upgrades).

Responsibilities

  • Own commercial opportunities from connected contracts: alarms, performance issues, remote diagnostics.
  • Define technical solutions: corrective works, remote optimization, enhancements.
  • Support pricing with cost inputs and technical justification.
  • Convert opportunities into executable work orders with service/account teams.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with scope, track revenue realization, and drive renewals.

Job Description

Remote Services Commercial Engineer to join our Honeywell Building Automation team in Independence, OH. This role is part of the Global Remote Buildings Operation Team who operate a 24/7 Engineering Response and Support to Honeywell Connected Sites around the world under a defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) and provide updated validation and analysis of Customer energy profiles and usage. You will be part of office-based teams working on various shifts who are the first point of contact for our contracted customer base.

It will be your responsibility to ensure our customers get their issues resolved in the most expedient way possible and in accordance to their SLA agreements. You will achieve this by offering Remote Fixes and Escalations to Field Engineering Teams and directly interfacing with customers.

Some national travel to customer sites may be required. Currently this is less than once per month. Hybrid working is possible, although the role is based out of Cleveland Ohio and it is expected to attend the office 3 days per week. Initial 90 days training would be 5 days per week in the Cleveland office.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Commercial Opportunity Ownership

  • Identify T&M and SPOT opportunities from connected contracts through:
    • Alarm analytics, system performance issues, and recurring faults
    • Remote diagnostics and engineering insights
    • Gaps in contracted scope or emerging customer needs
  • Define and scope technical solutions, including:
    • Corrective works
    • Remote optimization activities
    • Minor enhancements or engineering changes
  • Develop and support pricing of T&M and SPOT opportunities, including:
    • Estimating remote and field effort
    • Supporting commercial teams with cost inputs and technical justification
    • Ensuring alignment with standard pricing frameworks and margins
  • Convert identified opportunities into executable work orders, working with:
    • Service Account Managers
    • Sales / Commercial stakeholders
  • Track and manage execution and closure of T&M/SPOT work:
    • Ensure delivery aligns with defined scope
    • Monitor completion, customer acceptance, and revenue realization
    • Drive attach rate and revenue growth from installed base and connected services portfolio
    • Support bundling of remote services into renewals and contract expansion activities
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in Maintenance, Repair, Installation & Operation of BEMS
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on Building Energy Management Systems
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with customers in person or over the phone
  • Exposure to identifying or supporting service revenue opportunities (T&M, SPOT, upgrades) is desirable
