Job summary

Tunnell Government Services, Inc. seeks an Ultrasound Simulation/Modeling Subject Matter Expert to advance regulatory science research for FDA CDRH/OSEL.

The role focuses on developing, implementing, and validating computational models of ultrasound wave propagation for therapeutic ultrasound modalities. Responsibilities include designing high-fidelity models for HIFU, transcranial ultrasound, and thermal ablation, building workflows in MATLAB, Python, and k-Wave, and collaborating with FDA

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Acoustics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• At least seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in computational acoustics and ultrasound simulation.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, and/or k-Wave.
• Experience developing, validating, and documenting scientific or engineering software.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a library of high-fidelity computational models for ultrasound applications.
• Develop simulation tools/workflows using k-Wave, MATLAB, and Python to model acoustic propagation and tissue interactions.
• Validate model performance against experimental data and publish methodologies and results.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, physicists, and clinicians.
