Job summary

RTX is seeking a system administrator / support professional for roles tied to defense programs. The candidate will conduct multidisciplinary research, interface with customers, and ensure hardware and software standards are met while coordinating with engineers on issues and deployments.

Active SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship are required. The role may include CONUS/OCONUS assignments and offers a comprehensive rewards package including health, retirement, and work-life benefits.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in system administration or development/support in Linux, Solaris, Irix or another Unix environment.
• Experience performing complex troubleshooting and analysis to correct system discrepancies.
• University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or Advanced Degree in related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers for planning, design, development of electronic data processing systems.
• Determine root causes and coordinate with engineers to resolve issues.
• Interface with customers to address technical, operational, mission-related, and deployment requirements.
• Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output, and input data acquisition.
• Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
• Develop and implement plans to meet customer requirements and changes.
• Analyze system performance against technical requirements.
• Research and recommend hardware and software improvements.
• Design and implement LAN/WAN configurations to support site-specific needs.
• Troubleshoot program-specific hardware, software and procedures.
