Job summary

Protingent Staffing is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer for a contract-to-hire role. You will define prescriptive rules for systems engineering, develop or integrate COTS tools, and document our approaches to solving complex engineering problems.

The ideal candidate has ABET-accredited degrees, 15+ years in defense/aerospace, strong leadership, and the ability to travel as required (over 25%). A DoD clearance or eligibility is required. This position may be remote with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree (Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical) from a recognized university.
• Minimum 15+ years of applicable industry experience.
• Experience with Defense/Aerospace and full lifecycle systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce prescriptive rules for systems engineering.
• Develop or lead integration of COTS tools to enable engineering.
• Define and document systems engineering approaches and processes.
• Generate and execute training for the systems engineering organization.
• Analyze requirements and allocate to system and subsystem elements.
• Develop system architecture for new and existing systems.
• Review test plans and reports and ensure high quality engineering services.
• Travel to customer sites as needed (>25% travel).
