Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Blockchain Platform team. You will shape the infrastructure powering core crypto actions across 60+ networks and 300+ tokens, leading architecture for wallet stacks, indexing, and asset identifiers at global scale.

You will drive multi-quarter technical strategy, raise the bar on security and reliability, and collaborate across orgs to push architectural bets with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4+ years in staff-plus roles.
• Hands-on experience with one or more blockchain protocols at node or protocol level (e.g., EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin, L2s).
• Proven track record leading large-scale multi-team architectural initiatives in critical infrastructure.
• Experience applying AI or agent-based automation to reduce operational toil with measurable results.
• Ability to apply generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for Blockchain Platform (nodes, wallets, indexing, asset lifecycle).
• Architect and evolve core platform infrastructure for high availability, low latency, and security at global scale.
• Lead end-to-end design and rollout of large cross-team architectural initiatives with clear milestones and outcomes.
• Set engineering standards for correctness, security, reliability, testing and observability across crypto asset operations.
• Own data-driven reliability improvements using observability signals to identify and remediate gaps.
• Represent Blockchain Platform in executive and cross-org forums, aligning stakeholders on strategy.
