Job summary

CNO Financial Group, Inc. is hiring a Senior Staff Accountant, Investment Accounting to join our team responsible for accounting and reporting for invested assets on GAAP and statutory bases. The role supports project work, data integrity, and timely disclosures while collaborating with cross-functional teams across our U.S.

locations. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in investment accounting, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with CAMRA or similar systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or relevant equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years directly related work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and accounting concepts.
• Prior experience with Investment Accounting Systems and investments data administration.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Support Investment Accounting management team with project work and process improvements
• Assist staff with cash balancing, general ledger entries, trial balance reconciliation, SEC, GAAP, and NAIC statutory reporting
• Process complex investment activity and correct entries within the CAMRA subledger
• Assist with coaching and training of less experienced staff
• Validate the integrity of data in the subledger
• Prepare monthly and quarterly workpapers and disclosures for investment ledger balances
• Analyze, investigate and resolve reporting balances and variances
