Job summary

Onyx Point, Inc. is seeking a Senior Splunk Administrator with TS/SCI clearance to design, implement, and maintain a secure Splunk environment on hardened RHEL 8 systems. The role requires deep Splunk expertise, RSA integration, and cross-platform experience across Linux and Windows.

You will design architectures, onboard data, and troubleshoot performance and ingestion issues while aligning with security and IT teams to ensure a robust, scalable Splunk deployment.

Qualifications

• DoD TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• 8 years of Linux/Windows system administration experience.
• 5 years of Splunk distributed deployments experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers.
• Experience with Splunk CIM and data onboarding.
• Experience with Splunk integrations via forwarders, inputs, and modular inputs.
• Skilled in Splunk administration, monitoring, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of networking and security troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Splunk environments (forwarders, indexers, search heads, deployment servers).
• Install, configure, and integrate Splunk on RHEL 8 systems with security and scalability.
• Harden Splunk on RHEL 8 to meet security standards.
• Integrate Splunk with RSA for secure auth and authorization.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity; perform routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot Splunk issues including data ingestion and search optimization.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, installation guides, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with security, network, and sysadmin teams for seamless integration.
