Job summary

BlockReel is seeking a senior sound designer for a dark sci-fi web series. You will craft all sound effects, Foley, and ambiance, ensuring seamless integration with the score and dialogue. Work closely with the director and composer to shape the sonic identity of the project.

This is a three-week engagement with remote collaboration and occasional Nashville-in-person discussions, starting in October 2026 and culminating in November. A strong portfolio and a complete reel are required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in sound design for narrative projects, preferably web series or short films.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to craft complex and evocative soundscapes.
• Own professional sound design software and a comprehensive sound effects library.
• A compelling reel showcasing past work is essential.

Responsibilities

• Create all sound effects, Foley, and ambiance.
• Ensure seamless integration with musical score and dialogue.
• Provide creative input on the overall sonic identity with director and composer.
• Remote work with check-ins; occasional in-person discussions in Nashville.
